#3

Last week Matt and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary together! Wow, what a great three years so far. I feel so lucky to have Matt as my husband. We are constantly having so much fun together and our days are full of laughter. Bringing Felix into the world has been such a wonderful experience, and I wouldn't want to be doing it with anyone other than Matt. He is such a great daddy. He gets up with Felix, changes diapers, feeds him, plays with him, and just acts silly. We are always having little dance parties in the kitchen too!

This year Matt surprised me with a brand new bike! It's so cute and so fun to ride. I love the sage green color and the dark leather seat, it even has a wicker basket that goes onto the front. I had my first chance riding last week around Liberty Park while Matt went rollerblading and pushed Felix in the stroller. Good times and great exercise!!!

We celebrated our anniversary by taking a trip to the zoo that afternoon. I haven't been up to Hogle Zoo in years, and I loved all the new improvements. Felix most definitely enjoyed himself. He loved the elephants and rhinos the best. That evening we dropped Felix off at my moms and we have a lovely romantic dinner at jean Louis up in Park City. It's a fancy little French inspired bistro. Yum-yummy! Happy Anniversary honey!!!

Lake Powell 2009

Wow, what a trip to Lake Powell this year. Doesn't the craziest of things happen down in Lake Powell?! I would have to say yes! The first night of the trip, Felix became very sick. He had a VERY HIGH temperature and was seriously burning up. I gave him Tylenol but still the fever persisted. Sarah was holding him while I readied our beds up on top of the house boat. Matt was unable to make it down due to his duties at the restaurant. Sarah informed me that Felix was jerking awake every few minutes. You know when you are drifting off to sleep and you jerk awake? Well, that was what he was doing. Kinda strange because he has never done this before. I put him in his little nest of blankets, and he continued to jerk awake and cry out. I tried holding him tight but that didn't help much. I grew worried. I went and told my Dad and he came up to watch what was happening. He had me give him more Tylenol and to make sure he was kept uncovered with blankets. The jerking became worse and for longer and I seriously was freaking out!!! So glad my mom and dad were there. I was crying and wishing I was home and with Matt. I called on my Angels and protectors to help me through this scary time, I could tell they were close by watching over my sweet baby. My dad had me bring him downstairs for us to sleep close if I needed help. My mom took Felix for awhile, but I didn't sleep a wink. He continued to have jerking convulsions all night long. I was so exhausted and Felix just felt like crap. The next day he was doing much better but was lethargic and just wanted to hang onto his mommy. He had fevers for the next two days, but started to feel a bit better the last day of our trip. Whew, was I glad to get home!! We had wonderful moments though. Lake Powell is such a beautiful spot, one of my favorites on this planet. So even though we had some scary times there were peaceful times to balance it all out.

Goodbye My Love!

Today is a very sad day indeed. My beloved BFF Kate is moving up to Seattle. What fun we've had here in Salt Lake City. It all started with the crazy times at Roots. Boy do we have some stories! Fighting with Rachael, reading US Weekly, Beading, Surfing the web, doing a dance routine to the sound track of Annie. Oh I could go on and on. I really am so excited for Kate and her darling little family to be starting a new chapter in their lives. Also, Washington is such a great place to go visit so I will have to make a trip up soon. Good luck Kate and I will miss you tons!!!

Whale Wars

I've always had a life long love of whales and the ocean. I did about a thousand reports on humpback whales in elementary school! Going to Hawaii and seeing those magical creatures in the wild is unbeatable. One of my goals in life is to swim with humpback whales. Highly illegal, but I will do it someday. I came rather close with Ashlie last time in Maui, but we didn't really realize how close we were until we got back to shore and my mom told us! Awesome.

The show "Whale Wars" on Animal Planet has become one of my new favorites. I said to Matt, I think we should do something like this someday. As I watched, I said, I don't think I want to do this actually. Intense people! I have TMJ in my jaw from clenching my teeth so hard. Wow, these people are true environmentalists and they really put the well being of the whales before all else. They risk their lives to protect these awesome animals.

I urge you to watch to familiarize yourself with what is really going on in our oceans.

Just a few pics of the famous Felix! The Robinson's have had a very busy start during the month of June. Grandma and Grandpa Robinson came for a visit which is always lots of fun. We went a saw "Up" and Felix absolutely loved it. He sat through the entire show without making a peep. We have also been busy in the yard between the bursts of rain. We walked over to Grow Wild and purchased a beautiful Prickly Pear Cactus. Matt planted it and Felix helped by moving some boulders around, no joke (that kid is so strong)!!! We have all sorts of other adventures planned for June so stayed tuned!
