So long Sarahjane!
I want to wish my youngest sister a very happy birthday. She turned 18 on August 27th, and left for school in San Francisco today. Wipe a tear. How did you grow up so fast? It was only yesterday that I was teaching you Highland Cheers and KKG rush songs. Time slips by so fast. I know you are going to have the time of your life in art school, and I'm sure you will do all sorts of amazing things. Please stay away from strangers and creepy people. I love San Fran....the chowda, the crab, the beach, I miss it. But, I'm so excited to have another sister living in the city by the bay to go visit. Score! Love ya!

Hard Core Tat
Jack Johnson!!
Matt, Felix and I went to the Jack Johnson concert last week. It was such a blast! Jack is one of my all time favorites. I can listen to his music all day long, over and over again. We decided to take Felix along because he is such a big fan as well. I think it all started in the womb when I would have Jack playing in the car. Felix did great, we boogied the night away...and he fell asleep under the stars. Thanks to Kate and Bri for letting us tag along with you, and for allowing us to sit on your majestic eagle blanket.

Petite Appetite
Petite Appetite! It's my new obsession...homemade, organic baby food for Felix. My friend Erin Linder turned me onto the book and I've been steaming and pureeing my little heart out. Felix loves plums, apricots (harvested from the neighbors tree!), peaches, and today I'm steaming up some carrots. It's actually a lot cheaper than buying organic jarred food! We went down to the farmers market yesterday and I loaded up on fresh produce for me and for Felix. The book is very informative, check it out.

Bear Lake, August 2008
We were lucky enough to go back up to the family cabin in Bear Lake a few weekends ago. It was a great time. Almost the entire family was there....Grandpa Ted, all the Aunts, all the cousins (well, most of them) and all those little boys! So fun! We went to the beach and did some serious beach playing, water-tubing, wake-boarding, & jet-skiing. My favorite activity was walking down to "the holy cow" and eating some mooovalous mini donuts and drinking delicious lattes. Yum-yum. It was Raspberry Days as well, so we ate shakes everyday. Can't wait to get up to the cabin again.

Rants & Raves
I was looking at Craigslist the other day and came across the rants and raves section. There can be some naughty language on some of the posts, but most were hilarious!! These are a few of my favs...
This was addressed to "douchebag at iron man movie":
at the sugarhouse movies today 1:20 showing of ironman. why did you feel the need to clap after anything that was done in the movie that you enjoyed? this was so annoyning. if you want to clap go to a concert not a movie. i saw a lady come in with a baby, i was a little worried. but there was not a peep out of the little tyke. all the annoyning sounds were from your two hands smacking against each other. i really wish you would have used one of those hands to smack yourself in the face.
I'm cookin bacon right now (10:11 pm)... God help me, I just loves bacon.
This was titled "weekend Plans"...so random!!
I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Mine was nice as well. Friday after work I came home made me a salad and watched the opening ceremonies of the olympics. On saturday I played 18 holes at river bend and shot an 89 and proceeded to have a few with the guys afterwards. Then on sunday I went to church and swept out my garage then I called a buddy and we went to dinner at ruby tuesday.

Albion Basin Breakfast
this is the entire group!
Grandpa Ted & the Grandkids
Wildflowers!
Grandma Barbara
Betsy making the eggs.
A few weeks ago the Bernhisel family went up to Albion Basin for a breakfast cookout and hike. This was a really special breakfast because we were going to scatter G-G's ashes up on the wildflower covered hillsides. This was where she wanted to be, amongst the forget-me-not's. We had a killer breakfast and did a great hike up to Secret Lake. Half way up we had a prayer, and then each of us grabbed a handful of ashes and went our separate ways. This was such a hard, yet wonderful thing to do. I found a patch of flowers and laid the ashes to rest. Tears welled up and I couldn't help but weep. I knew my Glorious Grandmother was right there with me. Albion Basin is one of G-G's favorite spots, so I'm glad it's so close by. We even saw a great big bull moose...so amazing! I fill so blessed to have such a loving family. Matt's parents happen to come into town, so they joined us for the breakfast. It was great having them come along.

Cooking Out!
When my good friend Stephanie Paulos was in town a few weeks ago, a fun cookout was planned up Millcreek Canyon. It was such a great time. Erika brought her yummy salmon (caught herself up in Alaska) and she made salmon sandwiches. I made a salad and of course we roasted marshmallows over the open fire. All the little kids were running around having a blast. Too bad the Hispanic family next to us was seriously causing so much smoke....grrrrrr. I needed a little gas mask for Felix! I feel so lucky to have such great friends, and for living in such a beautiful city. In only 5-10 minutes you can be up the canyon in nature. It's the best!! P.S. These are not the greatest pics....I need to somehow figure out how to get Stephanie's pics on my blog!!
